About / Bio
We provide training, advice, and assistance so that you can get the most from your digital devices. We have regular meetings for people with different interests, for example, iPads, Android phones and tablets, and photography. We have a general monthly meeting usually with a guest speaker. We also provide one-on-one assistance (Tech Help) with advice and help if you have a particular question or issue. We also run training workshops on technical topics (this year we are running classes on Windows 10, Gmail, and Google Drive). Recently we have started supplementing our meetings by using video technology (via Zoom) to connect with our members to discuss various topics. (Think lockdown).

All of our sessions are informal and slower-paced. Most importantly, they are fun.

We meet at the Milson Community Centre, Milson Line 10 AM-3PM most Wednesdays. We also provide a free help clinic at the Feilding Senior Hub every second Tuesday. Come and have a chat.

The club is an Incorporated Society and opened with an elected committee on the 1st July 1997 with five second-hand computers. By 2000 the club had new computers, a scanner, printers and a quickly growing membership. The club outgrew its AMP premises in late 2000 and was offered better rooms plus computers in Palmerston North's UCOL building. A very harmonious relationship was formed and lasted for the next seven years when UCOL required more space and it was time for SeniorNet to look for its own premises. The move to the old rooms on Princess Street took place in January 2009. In 2020 we moved to our current location in the Milson Community Centre. During the seven years in the UCOL building, SeniorNet went from strength to strength. Membership at one time rose to 600 and all classes had good attendance. Other courses in digital camera and genealogy grew in popularity and special interest groups were formed and still have good attendance today.

Our Learning Centre is run by an elected committee and relies on membership for volunteers in administration and tuition roles. Typically our tutors have passed through our classes and use the knowledge gained, to teach others.

Can you help?
Do you have an interest in technology and are willing to share your knowledge with seniors?
Perhaps you have time to teach a course or workshop, it's not hard?
Would you like to help with the administration?
If so, we'd love to hear from you, please contact us, your help would be appreciated.
